In our busy lives, we all need a break, where we let nature in, find our inner peace and open up to our senses. We take the senses on a journey into the culinary world, a world of pleasure in an arctic spa, a world of architectural art.

Welcome to our destination Arctic Sensation.

The hotel will be built in the middle of a historic northern Norwegian coastal landscape, where people have lived for decades. The history is still present here today, with Iron Age graves right next to the hotel and farm buildings where small, varied houses from several eras are scattered with their gables facing the sea. There are no larger volumes or new buildings that break with the traditional buildings.

Hotel rooms are designed to give each guest a connection to the wide horizon of the landscape. The atmosphere in the rooms in this hotel should be to participate in all types of weather and seasons, which are contrasting in the north. The rooms therefore have glass walls on two corners, so that you feel in the middle of a larger landscaped room.

Buvika has a very good local climate, with south-west facing slopes in the shape of a bowl, that is sheltered from the weathered coast. This is a cultural landscape where most of it is still preserved. The design of the hotel in Buvika aims to be part of the tradition of the place, not in contrast.

This is a beautiful but vulnerable area, and its character must be preserved. The hotel is divided into several smaller volumes that have the same scale as buildings in the surrounding area.
